Waiting is such a hard thing to do, especially when you want something so badly. Sometimes you feel like a toddler who doesn’t get their way, so they throw themselves on the floor and start to scream, cry, and pout. How often do we try this with God? I know I’ve been in a season of waiting, and yes, I went through the temper tantrum stage. I just wanted my heart’s desire, especially when I was watching everyone else get their prayers answered by God.

God’s timing is PERFECT and AMAZING…even when it is hard and we don’t understand it. I look back at my waiting story and see how FAITHFUL God was. He knew every detail. If He would have done things my way, it wouldn’t have worked! He put people in my path who I could pray with, and people who were going through the same thing who could pray for me. God made me see people in the world through His eyes.

I read this scripture below in my quiet time, and it made me think about waiting. It is so profound! God’s time doesn’t look like ours. He is waiting for people to come to know Him as their Lord and Savior. You never know what God has for you in the waiting. Ask God to open your eyes to show you a different perspective while you are in this waiting season. If you aren’t waiting for anything, ask God to give you His eyes to see the world through.

But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years,

and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish,

but that all should reach repentance.

2 Peter 3:8-9 ESV
