Winter should be over by now. I love a good four-season year, and winter just has been going on for too long. I'm sure by now most of us are looking forward to warmer weather. I know I am looking forward to being able to sit outside and do some outdoor home projects. In the same way, I feel like mentally and spiritually I am in a season of needing God to sustain me. I’m sure the weather plays a part in that, but it’s more than that. I think we can get in ruts and not know how to get out of them without help from someone. When I fall down, I ask someone for help. What do you do when you fall down spiritually? Ask someone spiritual - God. He is the only one who can sustain us and give us strength when we are low. He is the one who wants the burdens of life that drag us down.
During my devotional time, I looked up some verses God uses to tell us how we are cared for by Him and how He is the one we should rely on. I want to share some of my favorites. I don't know if you are feeling this way or not, but I pray you would be restored, no matter what place you are at right now.
The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
I pray that God would give you peace and understanding in any situations you may encounter.
