In Children’s Ministry, we are teaching kids how to worship God. We usually have hand motions, dancing, and jumping during the worship song. Some of the kids are embarrassed to do the motions but will sing the songs. Some will be all in, singing and doing the motions…especially the little 5-6 year olds.

Have you ever watched a five-year-old worship God? It is both a funny and amazing thing to watch. They usually don’t know the words so they scream the last syllable of the word as loud as they can and do all the motions. It is the greatest thing to watch. One night before bed last week, my five-year-old asked if we could play a church song. We played the song “Sing Sing Sing” by Chris Tomlin. He sang so loud and did all the motions. I just imagined Jesus up in heaven smiling!

It made me think of worship. It made me think, what if we all worshiped like a five-year-old? All out, didn’t care what anyone was thinking beside us. We wouldn’t worry that we couldn’t hold a tune or we clap off beat. What if we walked in on Sunday and immediately gave Jesus all our worries and fears, and just worshiped Him for who He is?

Jesus called a little child over to him. He had the child stand among them.

Jesus said, "What I'm about to tell you is true. You need to change and become

like little children. If you don't, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Anyone who becomes as free of pride as this child

is the most important in the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 18:2-4 NIRV

This week, I challenge you to worship God like a five-year-old, not caring what anyone thinks of you. Worship the One True God who loves you and wants to be a part of your everyday life. The one who took all your sins with no questions asked. Worship Him!!
