Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.

His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:7 (NLT)

Have you ever experienced God’s peace? Just like the scripture above says, “God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.” I love God’s peace because He comes into the middle of a situation and just calms your heart to gently remind you that He has your situation. It doesn't mean the situation is taken away; He just calms your spirit.

It is so easy to feel stress, worry, guilt, and frustration in many situations…money, health, marriage issues, waiting on God to answer you on your one desire. All of these things can make a day, week, or year feel horrible if you are constantly worrying about them and not giving them to God. He wants you to ask Him to be in the middle of these situations so you can experience His TRUE peace. His peace is like standing in the middle of a tornado with everything flying around you, and you are standing there calmly, knowing that your loving God has everything under control! We still have moments when we freak out and forget to bring Him into the situation. That is normal because we are human, but when you feel those moments, keep talking to God and ask Him to be in the middle of your storm.

God gave my husband and me peace in the middle of waiting for our son. There were still times I thought He forgot about us, and I would still get frustrated. When those times would happen (sometimes every minute of every day), I would ask God to be in the middle of the situation and He would give us HIS undeniable peace. God would give me peace when I needed to encourage my husband and then vice versa. My husband reminded me that God wouldn't bring us to this journey and just walk away.

What situations in your life right now feel like a crazy storm, and you need God’s peace? Stop and think about them. Ask God to give peace in the middle of the situation, and know that He has everything under control. Every time these worries come to your mind, bring them back to God and ask Him to help you. Praying for you this week, that you see how amazing God’s peace is!
