The King We Need
Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.
Reading: Mark 11

After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.
As Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowds cheered, hoping for a political savior. But Jesus came to bring spiritual transformation and eternal salvation. By the end of the week, the same crowd would cry for His crucifixion. Why? Because He didn't meet their expectations.
What kind of Savior are you welcoming into your life? One who fits your plans—or one who leads you into His greater purpose? His Kingdom may look different than we imagine, but it’s exactly what we need.

- Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).
- Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: Lord, open my heart to receive You not as I want You to be, but as You truly are—the King who saves and transforms. Help me trust Your greater plan.
- Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.
Take Action:
- Write down one area where you need to surrender your expectations to Jesus.
- Share with a friend or group how Jesus is challenging and shaping your view of His kingship.
