Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.

Reading: **James 4:13–17**

Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.
After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.
**
James reminds us that life is fragile and fleeting. We plan as if we control time, yet each moment is a gift. When we grasp this, our priorities shift from temporary pursuits to eternal impact. God isn’t just calling us to avoid sin—He’s calling us to do the good we’ve been postponing. The tragedy isn’t failure; it’s inaction. Every day we delay obedience, we trade purpose for comfort. Life is a mist, but within that mist, we have the chance to reflect the eternal. What would change if you lived today as if it were your last opportunity to honor God?**

Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…

1. Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).
2. Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: **Lord, teach me to number my days and use my time wisely. Help me to stop postponing the good You’ve placed in front of me.**
3. Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.

**Take Action:**

1. Write down one act of obedience or service you’ve delayed and commit to do it today.
2. Reflect on your daily schedule and identify one area to surrender to God’s timing and purpose.
