Renewing the Mind in Love
Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.
Reading: Deuteronomy 6:4–9

After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.
To love God with your mind means choosing what you dwell on. The world competes for your mental attention—fear, worry, comparison—but love for God redirects your thoughts toward His truth. When Scripture fills your mind, His wisdom becomes your lens for every decision and emotion. Loving God mentally means training your thoughts to align with His reality. This renewal doesn’t happen overnight; it’s a daily act of devotion.

- Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).
- Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: God, renew my mind through Your Word. Replace my anxious thoughts with Your peace, and help me think in ways that reflect Your truth and love.
- Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.
Take Action:
- Memorize one verse that reminds you of God’s love and recite it when worry or distraction sets in.
- Do a “thought audit” today—notice what occupies your mental space and surrender anything that doesn’t honor Him.
