Our View on Scripture at the Tree
As Pastors and Elders at The Tree Church, we recognize the vital role Scripture plays in shaping the life and direction of our church. Without a denominational framework to define our beliefs, we believe it is important to clearly express our position on the Bible and its authority. We affirm that the Scriptures—both Old and New Testaments—are the inspired, authoritative, useful, and sufficient witness God has given His people to reveal who He is and how we are to walk in relationship with Him. At the center of Scripture is Jesus, the ultimate Word of God, and it is through the Bible that we come to know Him more fully.
This position paper reflects our belief that God speaks through His written Word by the power of the Holy Spirit, and that Scripture remains the foundation for all theology, instruction, and practice within our church. While we acknowledge that faithful followers of Jesus may hold different views, we present this position with humility and confidence, rooted in prayerful study and a desire to remain obedient to God’s leading. We welcome questions and conversation, and we hope this document encourages deeper understanding and growth in our shared pursuit of Christ.
