SAME-SEX RELATIONSHIPS

As Pastors and Elders at The Tree Church, we are often asked about our understanding of what Scripture teaches on same-sex attraction and relationships. Without a denominational authority dictating our beliefs, we seek to clarify our official position with humility and care. We believe Scripture consistently teaches that God’s design for sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage between one man and one woman, and that same-sex sexual relationships fall outside of this design. While same-sex attraction itself is not considered sin, acting upon these desires is viewed as contrary to biblical teaching.

Even so, we are committed to walking in both grace and truth, welcoming all people to explore faith and community at The Tree Church. Those experiencing same-sex attraction are invited into full participation and support, so long as they pursue a life aligned with biblical teaching. We long to be a church that lovingly helps people follow Jesus, believing that true fulfillment and lasting hope are found in relationship with Him, even when that path calls for sacrifice and obedience that may be difficult.
