At SEU at the Tree Church, we understand that exploring God’s vocation for our lives can be one of the greatest and most overwhelming experiences. We are honored that you have considered exploring God’s call on your life at The Tree’s SEU extension site, where we partner with Southeastern University to provide a foundational, theological education alongside practical hands-on ministry experience.

We partner with SEU, a regionally accredited university, that is offering 3 different degree programs at our extension site.

Practical Hands On Experience

Doing ministry is more than simply writing a great sermon outline or explaining the Bible to others. Leadership is a dynamic skill set that is best learned through experience and practice. What makes the Practicum Program unique is that students will not only learn the skills necessary but also will have the opportunity to practice them in real life ministry environments. The Practicum Program will focus on helping students establish the skills and habits they need to thrive in dynamic ministry and leadership environments. They will focus on areas such as:

  • Life Skills
  • Communication Skills
  • Character Development
  • Leadership Skills

Financial Aid

The SEU partner program does afford students the opportunity to apply for financial aid. The most common financial aid awards available are the federal Pell grant, subsidized and unsubsidized student loans, the parent PLUS loan and, for Florida residents, the Effective Access to Student Education (EASE) grant. Students will receive a tentative award letter from SEU’s Office of Student Financial Services that outlines their expected financial aid for the year, once the FAFSA is processed successfully.

Scholarships

Third party scholarship can be used to pay for your tuition. All financial aid and scholarship questions are processed through SEU’s Site Student Financial Services Team.

How to Apply

STEP 1. EXPLORE & DECIDE
  1. Check out the SEU Partner Page for FAQ’s.
  2. Choose a program you are interested in pursuing.
  3. If you still have questions, reach out to Chris Reed at clreed@seu.edu.

STEP 2: SUBMIT A VIDEO APPLICATION (There is a $25.00 non-refundable application fee)

  1. CREATE YOUR APPLICATION VIDEO:
    • All applicants are required to prepare and submit a video to the SEU at The Tree Admissions
    • Committee. This is a great opportunity for us to see and hear you talk about yourself and
    • Your interest in SEU at The Tree Church. Please ensure you follow all the directions.

  2. VIDEO SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
    • Maximum length of 5-6 minutes.
    • Make it personable in style – we want to get to know you.
    • Please ensure the video/audio quality are enough that we can clearly see and hear you.
    • If you add music, ensure it does not compete with your voice.
    • Act as if this video were to be seen by your lead pastor.

  3. EACH VIDEO SHOULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
    • Your name, age, and where you are from.
    • Why do you want to be a student at SEU at The Tree Church?
    • Describe any current ministry involvement or experience.
    • How does it align or not align with your passions, strengths, and gifts?
    • What has been your biggest challenge to date? How did you overcome it?
    • Give a brief version of your testimony.

  4. HOW TO SUBMIT:
    • Record (video & audio) your introduction and answers to the questions above.
    • Edit as needed.
    • Upload your video to YouTube/Vimeo.
    • Under privacy settings, select “unlisted” and title with “Your Name – SEUTTC
    • Admissions Video”
    • Copy and paste the video’s link into the space provided in the online application form.

  5. VIDEO APPLICATION APPROVAL:
    • Once you have received approval from the Admissions Committee, you may proceed to apply to Southeastern University.

STEP 3: APPLY TO SEU & FINANCIAL AID (This application is free)
  1. Once you have been approved by the SEU at The Tree Admissions Committee, you will need to apply to SEU through the Tree Church Partner Page.
