Perspective Changes Everything

Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.  

Reading: Psalm 73:16–28

Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.  
After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.

Asaph’s faith nearly collapsed as he watched injustice thrive while he suffered. Everything changed when he entered God’s presence. Perspective isn’t gained through explanations—it’s gained through proximity to God. Joseph could have focused on shame and broken dreams, but when God spoke, Joseph allowed divine truth to reframe his reality. We often see only fragments of the story; God sees the full picture. When circumstances overwhelm you, step into God’s presence through prayer, worship, and Scripture. The situation may remain, but your heart will be anchored in truth instead of fear.

What situation in my life needs God’s perspective instead of my assumptions?  

Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…  

1. Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).  
2. Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: God, help me see my circumstances through Your eyes. Shift my focus from confusion to trust in Your eternal purposes.
   
3. Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.  

Take Action:

1. Spend intentional time today in God’s presence before responding to your situation.
2. Write down one truth from Scripture that reframes how you see your circumstances.
