Protected by the Cord
Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.
Reading: Ephesians 6:10–18
Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.
After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.
Scripture reminds us that we have a real enemy, and one of his most effective strategies is isolation. When believers are disconnected, they become more vulnerable to temptation, discouragement, and spiritual attack. The armor of God is often read as a personal checklist, but it was written to be lived out in community. We need others to pray for us, speak truth when we can’t see clearly, and stand firm beside us when the battle feels heavy. A threefold cord—woven together through faith, accountability, and prayer—is not easily broken. Spiritual protection is strengthened when we choose to walk closely with the body of Christ rather than fighting alone.

- Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).
- Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: Lord, help me recognize my need for others. Teach me to stand strong alongside fellow believers and to trust Your design for shared spiritual strength.
- Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.

- Commit to praying regularly with or for someone in your faith community.
- Take a step toward deeper connection by joining or reengaging in a Connect Group.
