One Body, One Mission
Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.
Reading: 1 Corinthians 12:12–27
Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.
After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.
God never intended His people to operate as disconnected individuals. The church is not a collection of independent believers—it is one body with a shared mission. Each person carries a unique role, gifting, and responsibility, and when even one part is missing or disengaged, the entire body feels it. Community isn’t just about belonging; it’s about contribution. When you commit to the body of Christ, your faith moves from passive participation to purposeful impact. You begin to see that your presence, obedience, and service matter far beyond yourself. The question is no longer “Do I need the church?” but “What does the church need from me?”
In what ways is God inviting you to move from attending to actively contributing within His body?
Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…

In what ways is God inviting you to move from attending to actively contributing within His body?
Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…
- Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).
- Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: Ask God to help you see yourself as an essential part of His church. Pray for clarity about your gifts, courage to step into your role, and humility to serve alongside others. Invite Him to align your heart with His mission and to show you where your obedience can strengthen the body.
- Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.
Faith Steps:
- Identify one specific way you can serve or contribute this month—whether through joining a Connect Group, volunteering, or using a personal gift to bless others.
- Reach out to a church leader or trusted believer and ask how you can intentionally support the mission of the church together.
