Placed with Purpose
Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.
Reading: Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19-20
Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.
After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.
Jesus didn't leave evangelism to chance or to a select few. He commissioned all His followers to be witnesses—in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. This means you have been strategically placed where you are. Your workplace, neighborhood, family, and daily routines are your mission field. God has positioned you in relationships with people who need to hear the good news, and He's promised to empower you through His Holy Spirit. You don't need a theology degree or a perfect life. You need availability and boldness. Look around at where God has placed you. Who are the people in your everyday life who don't know Jesus? Begin praying for them by name. Ask God to open doors for spiritual conversations. Then be ready to share the hope you have with gentleness and respect.

- Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).
- Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: “Holy Spirit, guide me to see the people You have placed around me. Give me courage and wisdom to share Your hope in the ordinary places of my life. Open doors for conversation and help me speak with gentleness and respect.”
- Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.
Faith Steps:
- Make a list of 3–5 people in your daily life who don’t yet know Jesus. Begin praying for them by name daily.
- Look for an opportunity this week to start a spiritual conversation—whether it’s listening, sharing a testimony, or inviting someone to a community or church event.
