Your Story, His Glory
Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.
Reading: John 4:39-42; 1 Peter 3:15
Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.
After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.
Many Samaritans believed in Jesus because of the woman's testimony: "He told me all that I ever did." Her story was simple but powerful—she encountered Jesus, and He changed her life. Eventually, those who believed wanted to hear from Jesus themselves, saying, "We have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world." This is the beautiful progression of evangelism: your story leads people to His story. You are not the good news; Jesus is. But your testimony of transformation opens the door. Practice articulating your story: "I was __________, but Jesus __________, and now I'm __________." Don't wait for perfection. Share the hope within you. Your boldness today might plant a seed that bears eternal fruit tomorrow. Time in God's presence increases your awareness of Him, which fuels your desire to share Him with others. The cycle continues, and the Kingdom advances—one story at a time.
Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…

Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…
- Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).
- Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: “Father, help me to clearly see how You’ve worked in my life. Give me courage to share my story so that others may encounter You. Let my life and testimony point others to Your glory, not mine.”
- Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.
Faith Steps:
- Practice sharing your personal testimony using the simple format: “I was __________, but Jesus __________, and now I’m __________.”
- Share your story with one person this week, or write it down as a testimony to encourage someone else who may be struggling.
