Blessing Through Obedient Worship

Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.  

Reading: Matthew 5:1-12; Matthew 6:19-34

Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.  
After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.

Jesus consistently taught that obedience and faithfulness lead to blessing—both now and eternally. Desiring God’s blessing isn’t selfish; it’s healthy faith that honors His character as a good Father. When we worship through obedience—seeking first His kingdom, giving generously, forgiving freely—we position ourselves to receive what God wants to give.

Worship isn’t manipulation; it’s alignment. It aligns our hearts with God’s will and opens us to His favor. Like children who trust their father’s wisdom and provision, we honor God when we believe He will bless our obedience. True worship transforms us from the inside out, making us more like Christ and positioning us for the abundant life He promised.

In what area is God calling you to obedient worship, trusting Him for blessing?

Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…  

1. Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).  
2. Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: Father, help me trust that Your commands are always for my good. Give me a willing heart that obeys even when I don’t understand or can’t see the outcome. Align my desires with Yours so that my life becomes an act of worship that brings You honor. Amen.
   
3. Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.  

Faith Steps:

1. Identify one area where God has been asking for your obedience and take one step toward it today. 
2. Choose to trust God’s way over your own in one decision you face this week.
