Finding Yourself in God's Story

Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.  

Reading: Romans 10:14-17

Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.  
After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.

Faith comes through hearing God's Word—not through our own wisdom or reasoning. Just as a GPS requires both knowing where you are and where you're going, Scripture reveals our position in God's unfolding story. We discover who God is, who we truly are, and how salvation bridges the gap between us. Apart from Scripture, we're left wandering without direction. Today, consider how the Bible has shaped your understanding of God's character. Are you reading it primarily for information, or are you allowing it to transform how you see yourself in relation to your Creator? Let God's Word be the voice that guides you home, revealing both your need and His provision. 

Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…  

1. Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).  
2. Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: Ask God to help you see yourself through the truth of His Word and to deepen your understanding of His character through Scripture.
   
3. Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.  

Faith Steps:

1. Spend time reading Scripture today with the intention of hearing from God, not just gaining information.
2. Write down one truth you learned about God and one truth you learned about yourself through today’s reading.
