Reflecting on Finishing Well…Not The Year But Life
Saturday is a day to reflect on all that God has been speaking to you this week, and how it will affect your life going forward.
We pray that during your time with God, you were challenged and encouraged by God’s word and His presence in your daily life.
Today, we want you to do something simple yet incredibly important. We want you to take time to either write in a notebook or record a voice memo in your phone answering the prompts below. This does not need to be profound, poetic, or polished. It is a record for you to visit later to see and remember all that God is doing in your life. Journaling is a way to remind you of what God is speaking to you. Speaking something out loud or writing it down makes what we are thinking tangible and makes us accountable to it. If God has challenged you or called you to do something specific this past week, making it tangible makes it real. So don’t skip today…today is about faith building, and that is what we pray happens for you.
Before you get started though, let’s pray together:
God,
Staying focused on You every single day is hard. When life is busy, when it is full of so many good things, when it is full of so much pain and heartache, it is difficult to keep in front of me the thought that You call me to walk with You through it all. Keep my heart set on You. Give me the ability to see the ways You are working in my life. Keep my hands working and my feet walking in Your ways. I want to know You, not just today, but every day. Amen.
Here are today’s prompts for you to process through in your written or voice journal:
First, focus on God’s promises to you. Philippians 1:6 gives you the promise that God will complete the good work He started in you. How does His promise to see your faith through to the end help You trust Him every day?
Second, focus on your current reality. Were you able to identify the things that are helping you or pulling you away from everyday faithfulness?
Lastly, focus on a step God challenged you to take. Did God speak something to you this week you need to do? If so, what was it? How and when do you plan to do it?
