Created For A Purpose

Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.

Reading: Genesis 1:26-27, Matthew 5:13-16

Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.
After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.

God created us with a profound purpose - to reflect His image and be a light in this world. As you read these passages, consider how you're uniquely designed to showcase God's character. Are you allowing His light to shine through you in your daily interactions? Reflect on areas where you might be hiding your light "under a basket." Today, commit to one specific way you can let your light shine brighter, whether through an encouraging word, an act of kindness, or standing up for what's right. Remember, you are God's masterpiece, created to reflect His glory.

How are you currently reflecting God’s image in your daily life? Are there areas where you’ve been hesitant to let your light shine?

Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…
  1. Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).
  2. Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: Lord, thank You for creating me with purpose. Help me to reflect Your love and truth in everything I do. Show me where I might be hiding my light and give me the boldness to shine for You. Amen.
  3. Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.

Take Action:
Choose one specific act today that reflects God’s light—whether it's offering encouragement, helping someone in need, or standing up for what’s right.
