God's Presence in Our Vulnerability

Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.

Reading: Matthew 10:26-31

Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.
After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.

Fear can paralyze us, especially when we face opposition for our faith. But Jesus reminds us of a profound truth: we are incredibly valuable to God. He knows the number of hairs on our head! This intimate knowledge and care should give us courage. When we step out in faith, feeling vulnerable, we can trust that God is with us. Today, identify an area where you feel vulnerable in your faith journey. Offer it to God, asking Him to fill you with His presence and peace. Remember, "Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows."

What areas of fear are holding you back from trusting in God's presence and purpose for your life?

Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…
  1. Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).
  2. Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: Father, I surrender my fears to You. Help me trust in Your presence even when I feel vulnerable. Remind me of my worth in Your eyes and give me the courage to walk in faith today. Amen.
  3. Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.

Take Action:
  1. Write down a fear that has been holding you back, and pray over it, asking God to replace it with His peace.
  2. Reach out to someone who may be struggling with fear or doubt, and encourage them with God’s promises.
