Trusting God's Faithfulness

Open by taking 2-3 minutes to pray and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.

Read Proverbs 3:9-10, 1 Kings 17. Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.

After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.

These verses present us with powerful promises about God's faithfulness in response to our giving. When we honor God with our wealth and give generously to others, He promises to bless us abundantly. This isn't a prosperity gospel, but a reminder of God's character - He is a generous Father who delights in caring for His children. Reflect on times when you've experienced God's provision in your life. How has He been faithful to you?

Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…
  1. Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).
  2. Today, pray for the courage to step out in faith with your giving.
  3. Ask God about the areas where God is calling you to be more generous and trust that as you open your hands to give, God's hands are open to bless you - not necessarily with material wealth, but with His grace, peace, and joy that surpass all understanding.
  4. Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.
