Hope for the Future

Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.

Reading: John 14:1-3, Revelation 21:1-7

Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.
After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.

Jesus promises not just a transformed present but a glorious future. In a world full of uncertainties, we have the assurance of God's eternal plan for us. This hope isn't just about the afterlife; it infuses our present with purpose and joy. How does the promise of eternity with God change your perspective on current challenges? Think about the image of the New Jerusalem in Revelation. Let this vision of future glory strengthen your faith and motivate you to live fully for Christ today.

Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…
  1. Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).
  2. Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures.
  3. Or pray this prayer...Jesus, thank You for the hope You have given me—not just for the future, but for today. Help me to live with eternity in mind, trusting in Your promises and sharing Your love with those around me.
  4. Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.

Take Action:
Write a short prayer of thanksgiving for the hope of eternity and reflect on how that hope strengthens you today.
