An “Everyone” Love

This week, we are talking about how the cross brings clarity to God’s love. More specifically, today we will be reflecting on how God’s love for humanity is unconditional because “everyone” removes any conditions relating to past sins in our lives.

I want to begin with a simple prayer to invite God to move in our hearts:

God, move in my heart today. Let me be open to the things You want to speak through this time with You. I ask that in this moment, You will take away the worries of the world and give me Your supernatural peace. Allow me to feel You in this moment. In Your name I pray, amen.

John 3:16 (NLT)
16For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

Sometimes in relationships – friendships, family, romantic, etc. –  it’s easy to feel like the love we receive is based on circumstances. That we need to do everything a certain way for those we love to love us back. We have to be perfect in order to be loved. I feel this way often. I feel like I need to figure out all the things my friends enjoy so I can be the best version of myself for them. I often feel like the love I receive in my relationships is conditional based on what I do right or wrong. Have you felt this way about your relationships? Take a moment to think about if and when you’ve felt this in your life.

Thinking about this can be disheartening. It hurts a little. But the good news is that our relationship with God is nothing like this! The love we receive from God is not based on what we do right or wrong! His love for us is UNCONDITIONAL. He came to this earth so that everyone (verse 16) could be in relationship with Him, despite where we came from or the things we’ve done in the past. How beautiful is this love! How does knowing that God loves you despite what you’ve done impact your life? Take some time and think about this for a minute or two.

After taking some time to reflect on these questions, spend some time in prayer. Meditate on His love and the power it has in your life.

Thank God for His unconditional love!

Ask God to move in your life so you can share the good news of His love with others.

I hope that you feel God’s beautiful and unconditional love throughout your day!
