Truth Has Been Revealed – Know It
Sundays at Tree Church Daily are a day to prepare our hearts for what He wants to do through corporate worship. We need the Spirit to lead us and show us what He is doing currently and wants to do in us. This involves praying and asking Him to allow us to be aware of His activity in our lives.
If you are new to prayer and still trying to understand how God speaks to us, pray the prayer below, anticipating that God will meet you where you are.
Let’s pray…
Jesus,
There are a lot of influences out there trying to convince me that they have my best in mind. But I believe and trust that You are true. Where I doubt or get sidetracked, please help me to hold on tight to You. Bring me peace and clarity as I try to entrust my life to You. Amen.
This week, we will explore how the Bible tethers us to the truth of who God is and what He intends for our lives. Jesus modeled this beautifully; when He read the scriptures, He saw His Father written over the pages in them. Jesus believed that the truth of God had been revealed through the scriptures. He consistently interacted with the words of God as authority, often bringing clarity to them through His own teaching, as He did in His Sermon on the Mount. We will explore that our pursuit of truth will always take us through the Bible.
As you start to think about these ideas, take 4-5 minutes to answer these questions in your mind or feel free to write them in a journal somewhere.
Has the Bible been a source of encouragement to you? Why or why not?
Do you consider the Bible as your one true source of truth? If not, what are the other sources that are influencing your life currently?
Close your time today talking with God about your thoughts here. You can simply start by talking to Him or you can use the following prompts to help you get started. Feel free to take as much time as you need.
Father, I am confused by all the messages I hear and I need to hear You speak to ….
Jesus, I am struggling with…so please show me what you want me to take away from today.
Stay in this posture of talking and listening to God. As you go to your time of worship and teaching at church, ask God to speak to you today!
