Truth Has Been Revealed – Submit to It
We are purposed to set aside Sundays at the Tree Church Daily as a special time to prepare our hearts and minds for worship, prayer and fellowship. It is a day to devote to God and learn more about what He wants for our lives. This involves praying and asking the Holy Spirit to speak His truth to us.
As you begin a new day, thank God for all He has done for you, and ask Him to give you the strength and courage to better serve Him. If you are new to prayer and need some help getting started, then pray along with the opening prayer below. Let’s pray…
Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing Your truth to me today. I love You and I want to honor You by serving You to the best of my ability. Help me to better understand that by submitting my will to You, I will find abundant life and freedom only You can provide. Amen.
We are continuing in the series, Following Jesus. Last week, we focused on understanding God’s truth, which has been revealed to us through Jesus and the scriptures. James 2:19 says, “You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.” Knowing and pursuing God’s truth is just the beginning. Actual submission and application of God’s truth is what will lead us to life and freedom.
As we prepare this week to dive deeper, take a few moments to consider the following questions. Write your thoughts in a journal, record them on a voice recorder, or just spend some quiet time reflecting on what comes to mind.
Do you think that knowing where a certain scripture is in the Bible, or being able to quote scripture, means you are in a relationship with God?
What steps would you like to take to more fully apply God’s truth to the way you live your life?
Reach out to God and ask Him how you can make some changes in your life to better serve Him. You can start your prayer by simply sharing your thoughts and feelings with God, or use the following prompts to help you get started. Don’t rush this process; take as much time as you need.
Father, thank You for helping me to see Your truth. Help me to find ways to apply Your truth to my life…
