Peace With God Toward Us
Sundays at Tree Church Daily are a day to prepare our hearts for what He wants to do through corporate worship. We need the Spirit to lead us and show us what He is doing currently and wants to do in us. This involves praying and asking Him to allow us to be aware of His activity in our lives.
If you are new to prayer and still trying to understand how God speaks to us, pray the prayer below, anticipating that God will meet you where you are.
Let’s pray…
Father, will You help me to understand all that You have for my life? I know You gave so much for me to walk down this new path, but the old ways of living still call to me from time to time. Help me to see the good You have for me, even when it seems like what You are asking me to do is difficult. Amen.
By creating peace with us, God is no longer displeased with us. We were enemies by our choice and now we are teammates. Think about the cosmic shift that truth is! God is for us and therefore, nothing can be victorious against us. Because of that peace, everything looks different. Before, the sole purpose was for us to be saved and turn from our pathway of rebellion. Now that we are saved, everything is about us receiving all God has for us. Everything that once was painful, now has redemptive purposes.
As you start to think about this idea, take 4-5 minutes to answer this question in your mind or feel free to write it in a journal somewhere.
How does your thinking about God’s commands change when you see them as an invitation to fuller life?
Close your time today talking with God about your thoughts here. You can simply start by talking to Him or you can use the following prompts to help you get started. Feel free to take as much time as you need.
God, is there something that You are calling me to?
I struggle to believe You are calling me to life because…
Stay in this posture of talking and listening to God. As you go to your time of worship and teaching at church today, ask God to speak to your heart!
