God Loves You
Today, we are going to talk about one truth we always have to remember: God loves us! Despite the trials we may face, this fact never changes. Before we begin, let’s welcome the Holy Spirit into this time.
God, thank You for the love You pour out on me. Even when I don’t deserve it, You still give it to me freely, and I am so in awe of You. I invite You into this time. Fill me with Your presence. Speak to me the things You want me to hear. And as always, bring conviction where it is needed. In Your name I pray, Amen.
Romans 5:3-5 (NLT)
3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
Everyone goes through hard things in life. To be completely transparent, I am currently in a season of hardship. This is just a typical thing in life. Sometimes we have seasons that are full of joy and peace, but it feels like more often than not, we go through seasons of pain and trials.
But don’t let that discourage you. As Paul writes in Romans, we don’t go through these hardships without reason. God uses them to develop our character, and to help us become more mature believers. I can’t tell you the number of times I have gone through a rough time, only to look back months and years later to see the growth that occurred because of it.
Think back on your life. Have you experienced growth in your character due to a hardship you walked through?
When we go through tough seasons, we need to remember that God loves us! He wants what is best for us, even if that may be different from what we want. He shows His love by the way He comforts and guides us in these times. Without His guidance, we wouldn’t be able to experience growth through trials. That is just one of the incredible ways our loving Father shows His immense love for us.
Take some time for reflection and prayer.
Reflect on the seasons of hardship God has brought you through. Thank Him for the growth that occurred and for the love He showed.
Ask God to remind you of His love for you. Write down what He speaks to you.
I pray that you feel God’s immense love for you, no matter what kind of season you are going through.
