Peace with Others

Sundays at Tree Church Daily are a day to prepare our hearts for what God wants to do in us through corporate worship. We need the Spirit to lead us and show us what He is doing currently and how He wants to move in our life. This involves praying and asking Him to allow us to be aware of His activity in our lives.

If you are new to prayer and still trying to understand how God speaks to us, pray the prayer below, anticipating that God will meet you where you are.

Let’s pray…

Father,
Living this life with You is one of the greatest privileges, but it can also be one of the hardest things, especially since You want me to love others the way You love me. Loving people is tough. But I want You to teach me greater depths of love. I want You to transform me so I can be more like You. And I know it starts here in my time with You. So please lead me toward this today, Lord. Amen.

We continue in the series Following Jesus and are talking about having peace with God. Now that we have peace with God, it should lead us to a willingness to have peace with others. When we receive grace, there should be the response of giving grace to others. God’s grace transforms our minds and hearts as we come to terms with our sin and the depth of God’s love and forgiveness.

As you start to think about this idea, take 4-5 minutes to answer these questions in your mind or feel free to write them in a journal somewhere.

Take time to reflect on the depth of God’s love for you. What has Christ forgiven you for that is undeserving?

Close your time today talking with God about your thoughts here. You can simply start by talking to Him or you can use the following prompts to help you get started. Feel free to take as much time as you need.

Father, I am struggling to understand Your love for me because…

Jesus, I have a hard time loving (name the person) because…

Stay in this posture of talking and listening to God. As you go into your time of worship and teaching at church today, ask God to speak to your heart!
