Crowned with Glory and Honor
Today, we are going to talk about the Creator God and how it affects us that He cares so deeply for us. Before we start, let’s spend some time preparing our hearts in prayer.
God, thank You for Your divine creation. Thank You for the beauty that You made, and that You still care so deeply for me. I pray that You will open my hearts to the things You want to speak to me at this time. In Your name, Amen.
Psalm 8
1 O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!
Your glory is higher than the heavens.
2 You have taught children and infants
to tell of your strength,
silencing your enemies
and all who oppose you.
3 When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—
the moon and the stars you set in place—
4 what are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them?
5 Yet you made them only a little lower than God
and crowned them with glory and honor.
6 You gave them charge of everything you made,
putting all things under their authority—
7 the flocks and the herds
and all the wild animals,
8 the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea,
and everything that swims the ocean currents.
9 O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!
What a beautiful psalm! We have a majestic God who clothed the heavens and the earth with such beauty! He took His time intricately designing each piece of creation: the birds, the seas, each and every star. It’s no doubt that He made each thing perfectly, and that He cares for every living thing.
Spend some more time re-reading this psalm. What verses stick out to you?
I think verse 3 is especially beautiful to dwell on…the idea that He set each star in place exactly where He wanted it. I know I often find myself in awe of the beauty that the sky holds. And to think He spent His time designing it for me and you.
Not only that, He gave the same thought toward the design of you. He intricately put together every single part of you. Every piece of hair on your head. Every freckle or dimple. Every personality trait. Every single part of you was handpicked and designed by the same God who created everything in existence.
He cares so deeply for You. He loves all your “flaws” and all your “perfections.” He wants to provide for you through every need. Not only does He care for you, He crowned you with glory and honor, and calls you His child. What a beautiful thought that is!
As you dwell on the truth within this psalm, spend some time seeking God’s presence.
Spend some time in God’s presence, thanking Him for creating you exactly as you are.
Spend some time soaking in the honor that He has placed on you. Thank Him for that.
May you continue to feel the immense honor of being loved by the Creator.

As I was reading Psalm 8 again, an old hymn came to mind, "It Took a Miracle". The chorus says, "It took a miracle to put the stars in place. It took a miracle to hang the world in space. But when He saved my soul, cleansed and made me whole, it took a miracle of love and grace." The author recognized the awesome God we have and the love and grace He has for us. What a wonderful and powerful and majestic and loving Savior He is!!!! I love praising Him for all He has done!!!
