Words of Life
Today we are talking about the wholeness and fullness of life we receive when we saturate our lives with the words of God. We will evaluate what we are filling our hearts and minds with and compare those things to what God, through His word, tells us is important. Before we get started, let’s pray.
God, thank You for the words You have given to me. Allow me to let them saturate every part of my life. Speak to me today the things You want me to hear. Your words are always full of life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Proverbs 4:20-23 (NLT)
20 My child, pay attention to what I say.
We can’t just read the words of the Bible and listen to the messages of our pastor. We have to truly dive into the word of God. We have to study what God says, and then let those words saturate every area of our life. We have to take the truths we hear on a Sunday morning and put them into practice in our daily lives.
God didn’t give us His words to use as Instagram captions or so we can share them with a friend when they are having a bad day (though these are not bad things to do.) He gave us His words so that we can use them to guide how we live our lives. He gave them to us so that when fully saturated in them, we receive fullness of life that we can’t experience any other way.
Take a moment to think about your life. Are you fully saturated in God’s words or are you just letting them occupy a moment of your time? Do you hear a convicting truth and let it affect you for a moment, and then change nothing about your life?
The world offers many other words and “truths” to us, but we have to stand firm in the things of Christ. We have to devote time to truly learning His words so that they can stand against the things that try to come between us and Him.
Let’s spend some time in conversation with the One whose words make us whole.
Ask God to reveal hindrances that stop you from fully saturating your life with His words.
Ask God to help you begin to not just hear His words, but fully surrender to them.
I pray you let the words of God saturate your life so you can experience the wholeness He desires for you.

Proverbs 4:20-23 (NLT)
20 My child, pay attention to what I say.
Listen carefully to my words.
21 Don’t lose sight of them.
Let them penetrate deep into your heart,
22 for they bring life to those who find them,
and healing to their whole body.
23 Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life.
